We look forward to the start of the season and welcoming all the Border ladies to our competitions.  Hopefully 2021 will be a full golfing year.

2020 update

Hi Ladies

I hope you are all keeping well during these times.

Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 and in keeping with the guidelines set out by Scottish Golf, we have decided to cancel all BLCGA competitions for the remainder of the season. This decision was not taken lightly.

I wish you all the best for the remaining season and I look forward to a great 2021 season for the county.

We will be in touch with a date for the AGM in October however in the meantime, please take care.

COVID-19 UPDATE - CANCELLATION OF BLCGA COMPETITIONS

Dear All,

We hope you are keeping safe and well. 

We presume you are all aware of the recent statement released by Scottish Golf with regards to the cancellation of all events in the 2020 calendar.  Therefore, we feel it is appropriate to take action to cancel the following competitions in our calendar in the near future -

• Championship weekend
• Team Tournament
• South Jamboree
• Commonwealth Spoons

The only remaining competition in the calendar now is the Lawrie Quaich Texas Scramble on Sunday 6th September at Lauder GC. We will monitor this competition and make a decision nearer the time.

SPRING QUALIFIER CANCELLED

Hi All,

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister last night and the new guidelines set out by Scottish Golf, the spring qualifier has been cancelled.

We will monitor the Championship weekend in the coming weeks in-keeping with the Scottish Golf guidelines and government policies. If you could please email Tara with entries for the Championship and on this occasion, we will do a random draw for the Silver division from the entries if it is to go ahead.

JENNY CLEGHORN CANCELLED

Hi All,

Unfortunately due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the advice from Scottish Golf, we have made the decision to cancel the Jenny Cleghorn on Sunday 5th April.

We will continue to monitor the situation in keeping with the Scottish Golf guidelines and we will let you know regarding the Spring Qualifier in due course.

Borders v East Lothian Friendly Match - Sunday 15th March

I am delighted that the following team will represent the Borders at the East Lothian friendly match on Sunday 15th March at Kilspindie Golf Club -

Bacon rolls will be served from 9am in the clubhouse with tee times from 10.30am so if we could meet at 9am in the Clubhouse that would be great.

I can confirm that all competition entries are open and please email taramactaggart@hotmail.co.uk to enter.

Lastly, a few points from last year to confirm - 

• Please specify on every entry if you would like a morning or afternoon tee time. If not specified, you will be slotted in wherever space is available
• If you are travelling with others, please also specify who and I will ensure you are drawn near each other (remember I am not a mind reader!!)
• Once the draw has been posted, there will be no adjustments.

2020 Friendly Matches

Hello Ladies,

Our annual friendly matches are scheduled for March on the following dates:

Sunday 1st March - vs Midlothian - Newbattle Golf Club (Arrival from 12.00pm)
Sunday 15th March - vs East Lothian - Kilspindie Golf Club (Tee times from 10.30am)

If you would like to participate in these friendly matches, please email Tara with your interest no later than Monday 24th February for the Midlothian match and Monday 9th March for the East Lothian match.
