2020 Friendly Matches

Hello Ladies,

Our annual friendly matches are scheduled for March on the following dates:

Sunday 1st March - vs Midlothian - Newbattle Golf Club (Arrival from 12.00pm)
Sunday 15th March - vs East Lothian - Kilspindie Golf Club (Tee times from 10.30am)

Match vs East Lothian

Our second friendly match was played at Minto today on a mainly dry but breezy day. We again played 4 matches of foursomes with East Lothian winning 3 ½ to ½.

June-Anne Clark and Fiona Ker halved match against Kay Lannin and Dulcie Barnes.

Gillian Lithgow and Vicki Shirra-Gibb lost to Alyssa Balding and Anne Sewell. 1up

Lynne Bruce and Caroline Fairnie lost to Gail McKill and Dianne Brown. 1up

Match vs East Lothian - Report

Our annual match was played at the Glen (North Berwick) on Sunday the weather was great the sun shone upon us with only a little breeze.
We played a four BBB format but unfortunately we lost 3/1 but all matches were played in great spirit.

Match vs East Lothian

We had fantastic weather at Torwoodlee for our friendly against East Lothian yesterday. All games were played in great spirit with the Borders taking the spoils 2-1

Border Ladies match vs East Lothian 20th March 2016

Unfortunately we were not as successful with the result for the above match which was hosted by North Berwick golf club.
We had a super day out and the weather held out so we're extremely lucky we had a mix of players  with 6 silver players and 2 bronze . We played a four ball betterball so we all really enjoyed the course and the company the overall result was a win for East Lothian.

Friendly vs Midlothian at Newbattle

It turned out a really good although  blustery day for the few of us who were available to play against Midlothian at Newbattle yesterday.  It stayed dry and many thanks to Midlothian and Newbattle Golf Club for their hospitality.




Sharon Paterson & Fiona Ker were first out against Louise Fraser & Kate McKintosh, Borders were 2 up after 9 but a fightback by Midlothian reversed that score.  The match was eventually lost 2&1






Judith Anderson & Marny Waddell (super-sub) had a great game against Rachel Livingstone & Emily Dalgetty and were 3 up with only a few holes to play, they managed to hold on to win 2&1






Our only junior, Rebecca McDonald, joined the
Midlothian junior squad for some match play practice, she was paired up with Sophie Aitchison against Alison Lamond & Lisa McPherson, unfortunately Rebecca (right) & Sophie were beaten 5&4.
