Message from 2025 Captain, Sharon Paterson

First, I would like to thank Kirsty for giving me this opportunity to be Border Ladies Captain. I have been involved with the County team for many years, made many friends and had a lot of enjoyment. I am both honoured and privileged to be leading this talented group of ladies along with my Vice-Captain Pam Cessford. Pam and I have known each other for many years, and I am delighted that she will be by my side.

Kirsty is going to be a very tough act to follow. The enthusiasm, dedication and commitment she has shown over the last 2 years has been immense. Kirsty, you should be super proud of your achievements these last 2 years, you have been a great Captain, I only hope I can uphold your high standards.

Next season we have a couple of additional competitions in the calander, the joint Tex-Mex with the Border Seniors which we hold every 2 years. The aim of this competition was to get as many ladies as possible from both groups together, meet new people and hopefully encourage both to enter each other's respective competitions. We are also running a "Champion of Champions" which will be played for the Lady Henderson Cup. This in the past was a stroke play cup with the winner having the lowest scratch score. The Committee decided we would now hold this competition with each clubs 2024 Champions being invited to play. I am delighted that for the first year we have managed to get The Roxburghe as the venue. I have attached a list of the Club Champions that we currently know of and would ask if someone from the other clubs would contact us with their respective Champions from 2024.

South Jamboree - Hirsel 2024

WE DID IT

What a weekend I am very proud to tell you the Border Ladies Team are now the South of Scotland Champions. Our first match was on Saturday against last years winners Dumfriesshire Borders managed 8 1/2 points to Dumfriesshire 1/2 point. On Sunday Borders won 7 points and Galloway 2 points.

The golf on display at the weekend was to a high standard some of the men watching couldn't believe how far these ladies could hit the ball.

As a Team we have worked incredibly hard for this years jamboree and it has paid off. We would like to thank our caddies and all the people that came down to support us at the Hirsel & the Hirsel Ladies Captain Karen Hume who was amazing.

We would love if you could come to Eyemouth for the finals to support us they start on the 30th August - 1st September 2024.

Jenny Cleghorn 28th April St Boswells

First of all thank you very much for playing today I am sure you will agree the green staff had the course in excellent condition. A big thank you to the greenstaff , Linda & Colin Ovens and Fiona Melrose along with the St Boswells Ladies for their lovely scones, cakes and traybakes it was much appreciated.

We were also very lucky with the weather as I believe it was raining in most places today apart from St Boswells.

We raised £123 for The Border Cancer Unit which was great.

Our silver winners were Fiona Ker (who forgot half her clubs) and Kirsty Campbell with a great score of 69 Nett. Our Bronze winner who only met for the first time today I think should definitely play together again was Judith Dixon and Melanie Patterson with a great score of 66 Nett so congratulations to all of you and of course all the prize winners.
