First, I would like to thank Kirsty for giving me this opportunity to be Border Ladies Captain. I have been involved with the County team for many years, made many friends and had a lot of enjoyment. I am both honoured and privileged to be leading this talented group of ladies along with my Vice-Captain Pam Cessford. Pam and I have known each other for many years, and I am delighted that she will be by my side.
Kirsty is going to be a very tough act to follow. The enthusiasm, dedication and commitment she has shown over the last 2 years has been immense. Kirsty, you should be super proud of your achievements these last 2 years, you have been a great Captain, I only hope I can uphold your high standards.Next season we have a couple of additional competitions in the calander, the joint Tex-Mex with the Border Seniors which we hold every 2 years. The aim of this competition was to get as many ladies as possible from both groups together, meet new people and hopefully encourage both to enter each other's respective competitions. We are also running a "Champion of Champions" which will be played for the Lady Henderson Cup. This in the past was a stroke play cup with the winner having the lowest scratch score. The Committee decided we would now hold this competition with each clubs 2024 Champions being invited to play. I am delighted that for the first year we have managed to get The Roxburghe as the venue. I have attached a list of the Club Champions that we currently know of and would ask if someone from the other clubs would contact us with their respective Champions from 2024.
