Liz Campbell
We have had some very sad news this week, our friend and fellow golfer Elizabeth (Liz) Campbell lost her short battle with cancer on Wednesday 27th July peacefully at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
Liz took up the role as our County President this season, she was a great ambassador for all ladies in golf and a fantastic example of what we could all achieve through hard work, determination and practice.
A member at Torwoodlee, Liz was a great team player, who represented the Borders for many years at Jamborees and County finals
Liz was also a member of the Scottish Vets, winning their championship in 1998 and representing Scotland in the Senior Home Internationals on many occasions .
Liz, survived by her husband Tommy, will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.

Border Ladies match vs East Lothian 20th March 2016
Unfortunately we were not as successful with the result for the above match which was hosted by North Berwick golf club.
We had a super day out and the weather held out so we're extremely lucky we had a mix of players with 6 silver players and 2 bronze . We played a four ball betterball so we all really enjoyed the course and the company the overall result was a win for East Lothian.
Many thanks to all the players

Message from our Captain
To all Lady golfers in the Borders
I have recently taken over as Border County captain for the 2016-17 season and I am very much looking forward to the challenge.
The County competitions listed below are open to all golfers with a handicap from 1- 36.
We try and rotate the courses we use each year to support all clubs in the area it would be fantastic to meet new members throughout the season who enjoy a game of golf and a good chat.
We have two matches at the beginning of the season this year, they will be at Mortonhall and North Berwick, I have asked both counties if they could provide one fourball to be in the bronze section to allow the higher handicap players to participate, all volunteers who wish to support these matches please email me at denisegrich7@outlook.com Lets dust down the clubs and have a day out prior to your club season beginning.
Your support is very much appreciated
Denise Richards
