Isobel Massie

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that our Ex-Captain and Past President Isobel Massie passed away peacefully in her sleep last Friday after a long illness.

Isobel, originally from Elgin, lived in Innerleithen for many years with her family, although she moved to Haddington over 20 years ago she retained her membership with the Border Ladies. She was awarded honorary membership in 2013 in recognition of her commitment to golf and the Border Ladies.  She travelled far and wide with her close friend Netta Lawrie supporting the team and was always the first to send her good wishes.

We will all miss her and it has been a pleasure to have known such a lovely lady.

Isobel is survived by her children Grant and Sarah and 5 grandchildren.

Commonwealth Spoons - Results

Claire Howden & Marvyn Bryden of Torwoodlee, with a net score of 71.5, won and have qualified for the SLGA Commonwealth Spoons Finals to be held at Bothwell Castle on 3rd September.

Our qualifier for the Commonwealth Spoons is being held at Melrose Golf Club on Sunday 9th August. Tee times between 1pm & 2pm.
This is a 2 ball foursomes event, the winners of which will go forward to the finals at Bothwell Castle on 3rd September.

Charity Texas Scramble at Monksford - 4th July

You are running out of time to get your entries in for this event

Once again the owners of Monksford have kindly allowed us courtesy of the course for our charity texas scramble on the 4th July.  This tricky 9 hole layout is a joy to play and we are extremely grateful that we have access to such a fine course.
This event is open to non-members of the BLCGA, both male and female and the teams of four can be of any combination.
We will be having shotgun starts at 9am and 2pm.
The profits from this event will be split equally between the BLCGA and the charity of choice of the winning team.
